Our registry, The Tamaskan Dog Register, requires a minimum level of health testing for breeding dogs. For those considering this breed, you should request proof that the following health tests were completed prior to making a financial commitment:

Hip Scores, Elbow Scores, Eyes (such as CAER), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) and DNA Parentage (to prove pedigree). Many breeders also do additional testing such as a DNA panel like MyDogDNA or Embark. Heart testing is now mandatory for all new dogs entering the breeding program as of 2020.
